On 23rd January 2010 the 9th Winter Triathlon took place in Zell am See-Kaprun. For the first time the triathlon was a World Cup competition in the International Triathlon Union (ITU) as well as the Austrian country championship and the regional championship of the province of Salzburg.

Besides the fact that the first charging station for electrical vehicles was opened in Schlossplatz square and visitors of the car-free day could grab the opportunity to learn everything about an environmentally friendly way to travel, we at the Zell am See-Kaprun tourist information are now proud owners of two electrical bicycles.

‘Mountain Festival’ on Schmittenhöhe on 6th September 2009
