Photo shooting in the perpetual ice
Nov 3rd, 2009 by Christine Aberger
It is not only lovers of winter sports who are attracted by the first white slopes. Film and photo teams appreciate the snow-covered winter landscape as a backdrop for their shootings, too. And this was the very reason for art director Julia Murray and her team of the British Ryanair magazine to visit the region on Saturday. For their December issue they had a fashion shooting on Kitzsteinhorn in mind.
It is a true challenge to climb Kitzsteinhorn packed with all the necessary equipment. But thanks to the energetic help of the employees of Gletscherbahn cable car everything went like clockwork. We made our first stop at the ski hire shop of Intersport Bründl at the Big Apple snack bar. There, the two models, Leon and Alice, were provided with the latest winter sports equipment to give them the proper look of dyed-in-the-wool skiing fans. While trying on the outfits, they had make-up applied by Katie Webster. When everyone was ready, we set out to conquer the summit where the models spent the entire day posing for photographer David Yeo and his assistant Dominic Hawgood who took care of the perfect illumination, too.
Without a doubt it was an overwhelming experience for our guests to break through the fog hovering over the valley and approach the summit glittering under a radiant blue sky. But it was the stunning panorama serving as the backdrop of the photos which left all of us speechless. In addition, we were lucky to have splendid weather, sunshine, and pleasant temperatures so that it did not take long until David had taken the perfect photos.
A selection of the best photos of that day will be published in the December issue of the Ryanair magazine. So if you are planning a journey by plane during that month, make sure to take a look at the results!

Congrats to David and Dominic. I am looking forward to see the photos they created because I am a photographer myself.
In December I will also spend some time on the slopes of Kitzsteinhorn and will bring part of my equipment with me, so I will capture the beautiful surroundings. See you all in December
