Enjoying a yummy breakfast and pristine powder snow
Oct 27th, 2009 by Sebastian Kaufmann
Snow is back! Fortunately we did not have to wait long for it to return. Already by the middle of October Zell am See-Kaprun had one and a half metres of finest snow to offer. A dream! Of course, I did not hesitate a second to head for the pistes. Keeslift took me to an altitude of 2,940 metres above sea level where I left my traces in the fresh snow. How I had missed this during the summer months! Now unclouded skiing and boarding fun can be taken for granted until spring 2010.
Actually, this time I do not have an exclusive insider tip up the sleeve. That is probably due to the fact that I am still completely lost in rapture about the onset of winter. But let me tell you what I generally do when I have some spare time, maybe you will take to spending a day like this, too. In the morning at 8.15 am I board the first cable car up to Kitzsteinhorn. Once I have arrived there, I enjoy a yummy breakfast and the stunning view. Check out Alpincenter for instance!
And then the time for a sporting challenge has come! I get on my board and dash down into the valley! What a fabulous experience! I am so glad to have a first-class skiing area like Kitzsteinhorn right on my doorstep: powder snow in October and snow certainty all year round – just imagine! Where else can you rely on equally perfect conditions? That’s what holidays ought to be like!
