A hot tip: Wake your skis from their summer sleep
Oct 28th, 2008 by Evelyn Thurner
Hello! My name is Evelyn Thurner and since August I have been working as a marketing assistant at the Gletscherbahnen Kaprun AG. My first winter at 3.029 metres of altitude is approaching with giant strides. I am already in a fever of excitement! And the good news is that we don’t have to wait any longer for pristine snow to cover the glacier. It is already dazzling in its splendour and the pistes are already prepared. Skiing coach Stefan Moser is training the young talents from Scotland and talks highly about ’stunning conditions’. Joe Pirnbacher from the Skigymnasium Saalfelden and his charges are looking forward to venturing out onto ‘these spectacular slopes’. My tip for you: wake your skis from their summer months’ sleep and open the skiing season of this winter. By the way: on Kitzsteinhorn, newschoolers and shredders can practise stunts and jumps on brand new obstacles like the railline with a picnic table, the 8-metre-high kinked box, the 9-metre-high fun box, and a jib barrel. And there are various events coming up in November which guarantee for a great kick-off into the season. Make sure not to miss out on ‘white-start’, ‘Back on Board’, and ‘Back on Snow’. See you soon on Kitzsteinhorn!
