We had told them beforehand. But for the ladies in the study group from Armenia, beauty was the top priority. When we finally reached the snow-covered summit of Kitzsteinhorn, there was little I could do for them. The group had arrived in thin slippers and had decided to wear them on the glacier as well (picture). And of course, they got their feet pretty wet. But their annoyance kept within bounds: the fascination of Kitzsteinhorn saw to that.
After their long journey from Yerevan, I took the 16 travel agents on a trip all around our beautiful region. We went up to Kitzsteinhorn, crossed Lake Zell on a pleasure boat, and strolled in the streets of Zell am See and Kaprun. The ultimate highlights for the ladies were the glacier snow, which they had never experienced before, the crystal clear water of the lake, and the culinary treats of the region.
The ladies tasted the Austrian cuisine in the ‘Big Apple’. The restaurant at the Alpincenter on Kitzsteinhorn served us a first-class lunch after we had first visited the crow’s nest of Glocknerkanzel. The platform grants you a stunning view of Grossglockner and other Alpine giants. Our visitors from Armenia were left utterly speechless - despite their wet feet.
